From the Stage to the Studio: A Life in Live Sound and Production

For over four decades, I’ve had the privilege of working in the heart of live music—behind the faders, under the lights, and in the energy of the moment. As a Production Music Mixer and Front of House Engineer, I’ve collaborated with some of the world’s most recognized artists, bringing their creative visions to life across global tours, residencies, and televised award shows.

My role bridges both the art and the science of sound. Whether I'm working with artists, audio vendors, production managers, or tour audio teams, my goal is always the same: to faithfully translate an artist’s vision into a powerful, emotional live experience. With a hands-on approach rooted in old-school analog sensibilities, I’ve embraced modern digital workflows not as a replacement, but as an extension of what’s possible.

Cubtone Soundwork’s Inc. : A Creative Home Base

Nearly 40 years ago, I founded Cubtone Soundwork’s Inc. —my personal studio space designed to support touring projects, post-production, and creative experimentation. CSI is more than a studio; it’s a reflection of my approach to sound: flexible, responsive, and artist-centered. From a broad array of microphones to MIDI controllers, sound sampling tools, and instruments, it’s fully equipped to support modern music production without losing the warmth and tactility that shaped my early career.

Blending Experience with Innovation

Working across continents and venues, I’ve learned that every production—whether it’s a sold-out Stadium, Arena, a Las Vegas residency, or a live TV broadcast—presents its own unique challenges. What’s consistent is the importance of listening: to the artist, to the room, and to the audience. That intuition, developed over decades, is something no plugin can replicate.

Today’s production landscape moves fast. New tools, immersive audio formats, remote collaboration—it’s all changing the way we work. But what hasn’t changed is the need for craftsmanship and trust. That’s what I bring to every show and every mix.

Looking Ahead

I’m incredibly grateful for the journey so far, and for the trust so many artists and teams have placed in me. Whether I’m mixing FOH for a major tour or shaping a track in the studio at CSI, my commitment remains the same: to serve the music, support the artist, and never stop learning.

If you’re an artist, a fellow audio professional, or simply a fan of live sound, I’d love to connect—and keep the conversation going about where music production is heading next.
